What a difference a year makes.
What happened to Jim Armstrong? 2 years ago he had a 2.78 ERA, and 12.7 K/9 a quality start percentage of 71% and 5 war.
In 2046 that blossomed to 6.30 ERA, 8.0 K/9 and 27% QS and 0.1 WAR. Ouch.
It has gotten so bad that New Orleans has totally upended their rotation and sent their (formerly) #1 pitcher to the bullpen. Maybe thats his best spot now. In 4 bullpen appearances he has pitched 3.2 innings and allowed just 2 hits and 5 strikeouts.
Replacing him in the starting rotation is CL Renato Lacerda - who has over 250 Saves in his career - but also isnt a bad starter on paper (except for a pesky hanging changeup) In his first career start he pitched 7.1 innings, allowing 7 hits and 2 runs.
Unconventional for sure...but if this short term trend continues, it could bode well for New Orleans the rest of the way - although they have significant ground to gain as they are 17 games behind Montreal in the JL ATL and 9.5 games out of the Wild Card
