New Orleans had a disappointing season. no doubt about that. Among those who had a disappointing season was SP Alan Gunn https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 37235.html. Gunn, the 24 year old former first round pick in 2042 made his BBA debut in June against Mexico City. He allowed 4 runs in 7 innings in a non decision. two starts later, he picked up his first win in an 18-3 stomping of Calgary. In his first 3 starts he had a 3.24 ERA and was off to a seemingly good start to his career.
But one win is all he would end up with, finishing 1-9 with a 5.86 ERA. Like the rest of the team, July was horrid. Going 0-3 with a 6.85 ERA.
2046 will be intersting to watch for Gunn. Was 2045 an anomaly - or evidence of his real talent? He was coming off a 2044 season where he went 14-11 with a 3.17 ERA and 1.11 WHIP and 3.5 WAR in AAA. But once called up to the 'Dads, his .316 BABIP exceeded his 2044 campaign by over 60 points.
if Armstrong is traded, as has been strongly hinted at in the front office, Gunn will need to be a key part of that. 2046 should be telling.
