19 August 2042 - Today 1B Raul Fernandez (https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 40753.html) made his stunning debut in grand fashion.

The prized 24 year old prospect finally made his major league debut - and what a debut it was. The youngster went 3-4 with 2 Home Runs and 4 RBI's in teh Crawdads 11-6 drubbing of Whichta.
"What a great performance" GM Jim Roberts remarked! We are fortunate to have a number of guys who can hit at the 1B position. We look forward to the competition the rest of the season.
It appears Fernandez's main cometition is the Czech 1B Bratislov Maruousek https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 38106.html (who went 3 for 5 himself - including a triple, 2 RBIs and a SB in the game). Fernandez is the clear better fielder, but Marousek's got some other tools (i.e Speed and contact) that will make him a force to be reckoned with. On the season Marousek is hitting .344/.393/.509 with 23 SBs and a 1.6 WAR. Replacing that kind of production wont be easy.
Marousek probably slots better as a DH given his glove. His -7.1 ZR this year isnt going to do him any favors. But with C Gomez https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 33679.html and C Klooseter https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 30978.html both on the roster, the DH slot has a lot of competition.
It will be interesting to see if the log jam breaks at the trade deadline. But either way, GM Jim Roberts sees this as a good problem to hae.
