Crawdad Chronicles 42.02 Projected Opening Day Lineup

Post by JimBob2232 » Sun Mar 22, 2020 7:33 pm

With the 2042 spring trainig season starting, we wanted to preview what the anticipated opening day lineup should be in New Orleans, barring injury or a trade. It has been noted that either Roleof Klooser or Pedro Gomez COULD be on their way out, but absent that, here is the opening day projected lineup

SS Jose Sanchez (8/8/2/4/9) - First full season. hit .293/.342/.414 in AAA
https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 43351.html

3B Mario Barerra (7/6/7/7/7) - Underrated talent. 11 WAR the last 3 seasons.

RF Juan Donestavez (8/8/7/6/9) - ROY candidate. Making his debut in BBA. .300/.388/.352 in AAA last year.

LF Justin Jackson (8/7/8/5/8) - Prized FA signing. 2037 Sawyer winner. 42 HRs last year.

2B Jared Gillstrom (8/5/7/8/6) - Still hanging in there at 37 years old. .288/33 HR/111 RBI last year
https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 24319.html

C Roelof Klooster (7/10/6/6/6) - .273/.352/.444 last year in rookie year.
https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 30978.html

DH Pedro Gomez (8/9/4/3/9) - .328/.372/.549 last year in AAA
https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 33679.html

1B Bratislav Marousek (9/8/2/4/9) - First Full season. Hit .307/.360/.498 in AAA last season
https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 38106.html

CF Xavier Rangel (6/7/5/4/7) - 2040 ROY with 5.4 WAR. Off year last year. hit just .212. .230 BABIP. Looking for a rebound in 2042. Could move to the leadoff spot once/if he bounces back to form

Way too many 7s, 8s, and 9s for my comfort level!

As great as Rockville is going to be, New Orleans is going to cause a lot of headaches in the JL and surely be in line for a playoff spot once again.

I said New Orleans would be this coming seasons landis winner moments after Edmonton won last year. I stand by that. They scare me.
