Today New Orleans announced a new pitching coach. jimmy McCabe joins the coaching staff in New Orleans.

Jimmy "Tofu" McCabe is a 2 time Nebraska winner, and a 6 time BBA all star. He was a borderline HOFer as a player. Mostly remembered for his amazing 2013 season where he went 26-4 with a 2.46 ERA and a WAR of 9.1.

Following his retirement, McCabe joined the coaching staff in New Orleans. He has managed at all levels of the minor leages from Rookie Ball to AAA the last 3 seasons.

Room opened up on the staff after PC Garin Schoettlekotte retired at the age of 66 after a challanging year in the big easy.

McCabe will be forced to try to cobble together a staff that has great promise, but also some significant injury concerns and rehab stints on the horizon.

its always nice to have a 2 time Nebraska winner helping you out said star injured SP Jim Armstrong. I just cant wait for my arm to heal up so I can get to work with Jimmy again!
