Crawdad Chronicles 40.05 - New Orleans establishes exploratory committee for new stadium
Today the New Orleans Crawdads announced an exploratory committee for a new stadium.
The current stadium is a 55,000 seat stadium, nestled in downtown New Orleans, with a retractable roof and grass turf. According to league records, the stadium was built sometime prior to 1995. GM Jim Roberts notes that the aging stadium is beginning to show its age, and is starting to take a massive amount of capital to ensure that it is operating at the level required for a top notch franchise.
We see other teams building shiny new stadiums, and that helps them out in a lot of ways. We love Crawdads stadium, and if we decide to build new, we will certainly keep alot of what makes this a great ballpark to go to a game.
This isnt the first time a stadium has been talked about, but it is the most official announcement the team has ever made. Back in 1999, there was a trash-man who found some drawings in a dumpster, which caused quite a stir. viewtopic.php?f=56&t=2031&p=10515&hilit=stadium#p10515
The team has run a significant budget surplus this year, and with LaLoosh's salary coming off the books after next year, it appears this time there is more smoke to the fire.

It’s in the stadium fee tracking spreadsheet. Only goes back to 1995 though (or so it appears)
That makes finding stadium plans in the trash in 1999 a bit perplexing.

Wasn't 1995 when the MBBA was rebooted? That's when I first joined, anything before that was the original MBBA. I don't know if anything like that survives from the original CATO database? Also as others have said, the vast wealth of TN's are often a source of history, not just your team's TN's of the time but other teams of the contemporary period might mention things like " we played in their new stadium for the first time", "we were the first team to play there" etc

Looks like it was built (or renamed) in 1978: https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/Cat ... /park.html
