The 2040 season got off to a hot start for New Orleans. Although they came up one game short of winning the JL Atlantic, they have a lot to build on for the 2041 season.
CF Xavier Rangel (https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 40970.html)is leading the balloting for JL ROY, and is projected to be the winner. In his rookie year he joined the 30/30 club, as well as having a 5.5 WAR and a +2.0 ZR in CF
The quiet and speedy switch-hitting Rangel made the all star game and was named the MVP in the Geghogan round.
For the numbers crowd, Rangel had a .289/.347/.579 slash line, 36 HRs and 97 RBI. throw in 41 SBs and then realie he did all that while maintaining a relatively low BABIP of .288 and its no surprise he has quickly become a fan favorite in the big easy.
Although his ratings are nothing too flashy, his combination of speed, defense, above average arm and work ethic make him an outstanding leadoff hitter, and one should expect him to maintain the top of the order slot for many years
