One of the more interesting prospects in the New Orleans farm system was called up in September. OF Xavier Rangel (https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 40970.html), a switch-hitting speedster who plays impeccable defense at all 3 outfield positions, and has a little pop to his bat has been called up.
GM Jim Roberts notes, "he may be small, but this 5'9" 150lb kid can play!" After racking up a 4.8 WAR in AAA, rangel got the call in September. In 22 plate appearances, he has hit .333/.364/.619. Ironically, he hit his first home run before stealing his first base. He made his first round tripper count. It was a 2 run HR off of Roberto Lizardo of the San Antonio Outlaws to score 2 runs in the 9th inning to force extra innings. The crawdads scored once more in the 10th to secure a 7-6 win.
Rangel wasnt done. The next night he went 4-4 in a 8-3 loss to louisville.
New Orleans expects great things in the future for Rangel.

Im sure it wont stay that way. His AAA numbers was only .484 (which I would be thrilled with if he could do that in the BBA)
