Nobody expected New Orleans to break the bank this offseason...not even Resurrection Santos. But the 26 year old slugger signed a 5 year $115M immediatly placeing him near the top of the yearly salaries list.

The 26 year old is expected to take over in Center Field. When asked why they decided to break the bank for Santos, GM Jim Roberts responded "we had money to burn...no point in letting it sit on the sidelines"

The Fans in NEw Orleans are estatic with Santos coming on board...but With Key Young players up for contract renegotation in the next few years, New Orleans will need to carefully manage the finances or the fans energy may turn to disapponitment.

The acquisition of Santos could mean the end of Catcher Champ Kind's time in New Orleans. Earning $8M this season, Champ might have to go elsewhere to allow New Orleans some breathing room under the $95M Salary Cap.

New Orleans returns almost all their starters from last year. Just one win away from the Championship Seriers, New Orleans hopes that the acquisition of Santos can put them over the top.
