Nothing but complete disappointment this season in new orleans.
Missing the playoffs for just the 6th time in the last 25 years is one thing. Having just the second losing season over that time frame is another. GM Jim Roberts is not happy. Of course, one could blame him for trading away two top pitchers in Freddy Delgado and Arthur Norris (among others).
Or one could blame Manager Francisco Hernandez, who was fired by San Antonio after going 136-188 in the 2033/2034 seasons. His job might be on the chopping block.
Or maybe you could blame it on some youngsters who werent ready to step up quite yet. Ricardo Vargo only hit .227, Joaquin Romano had an ERA over 6.0.
Or maybe it was the TERRIBLE defense that combined to have a -28 ZR (primarily at SS).
Or maybe it was injuries to key players such as SS Reynaldo Ruiz, which contributed to the terrible defense.
Or maybe it was just bad luck as a nearly league low .282 batting BABIP and a .308 pitching BABIP might explain.
Whatever it is, its unsatisfactory. Some changes must be made. Some changes will be made. But with limited cap room ($12M), and Hsin Mei needing to be resigned, they might need to move some salary. Players like Sam Romero, and Luke Pratt are likely candidates.

Yep. And Mei wants 20+ Mil/year. Cant afford to lose him, but dont want to tie up 20% of my cap in one player...
