Duggen Padget has spent 46 of the last 48 months on the DL. But he is back now. Ready for another challange.
Duggan Padgett isnt a familiar name in most circles. Originally signed as an IFA in 2027 by Brooklyn, he was traded to the New Orleans farm system sortly thereafter. Padgett slowly rose through the minor leagues, getting better along the way. In 2031, he debued in New Orleans. In 2032, at just 22 years old, he was the closer in the big easy with 26 saves. It was looking like he would have a solid major leage career.
But then tradegy struck. In August of 22 he had surgery to remove a bone chip from his elbow. That kept him out for almsot 13 months until he came back to the club in 2023. After a stint in AAA as a rehab assignment, he came back up to New Orleans and showed he still had it. In 10 games, he had a 1.89 ERA. But then...as the tragic story goes...he tore his rotator cuff and was out for another 28 months.
So after missing 46 months out of the last 48, he is back. Back doing another rehab stint. He is still young at 25, but the long sting on the DL has clearly taken its toll. New Orleans bullpen is strong, so there might not be room for him. Padgett knows that. But for now, he is just hoping to stay healthy and have fun. Here is to hoping he can find his success.

Re: Crawdad Chronicles 35.05 -Padget off DL after over 2 years
I know at one point this season I about inquired about Padget thinking I could perhaps get him for cheap since he hadn't thrown in so long but with him coming back soon at the time I figured it wouldn't happen.
I'm not sure we have too many success stories of guys on the DL that long. In fact, I don't know many guys in the league who have gone that long between pitching due to a DL stint.
