Today the New Orleans crawdads announced that 2 time Nebraska winner Jimmy McCabe will join the ranks of minor league pitching coach for the Bartlett Jazz.
McCabe, best known for his 26-4 record in the 2013 season is a 5 time all star is now 47 and is looking forward to getting back into baseball. "the last decade or so, ive done some things with my life. I have been reborne, but I miss this game". I look forward to giving back to young kids what had been given to me."
McCabe moved up swiftly throught he minor league system, and only played 9 games of rookie ball. His career ended a bit early at the young age of 35, which has likely prevented him from making the BBA hall of fame, but he hopes one day perhaps he can coach someone who can make the hall.
"I'd like to get into managing at some level, but for right now, teaching young kids how to get a head start in this leage is all the joy i need"
