Crawdad Chronicles 33.03 - Mei Shining in Playoff Debut

Post by JimBob2232 » Sat Feb 10, 2018 10:00 am

New Orleans C Hsin Mei is off to a hot start in his first taste at BBA playoffs.

In 11 games, Mei is hitting .325 with 3 Home Runs, 10 RBI.

First, in the Geoghegan round, Mei had a walk-off home run in game 4, which allowed the crawdads to take the series over Charm City 3 games to 1.

Mei then followed that up by being named MVP of the Doubeday series after hitting .391 in the series resulting in a stunning knocking off Frick League Midwest Champion, and arch-rival, Las Vegas in a 7 game set.

Mei is one of the games top young prospects. Mei was born in China and came over to the BBA as an International Free Agent. New Orleans paid handsomely for his services, giving him a $12M signing bonus. A former top 5 prospect, Mei marched through the minor leagues before debuting in New Orleans 3 seasons ago.

This season he hit .293 with 13 home runs. a respectable, but not oustanding stat line. The 23 year old youngster still has more developing to do, but if his post season antics are any indication, he is in for a solid career in New Orleans.

I was thinking that it seems like it was ages ago you snatched him up in IFA. Turns out, that was in fact true. Those 16 year olds sure take a while to get to the bigs sometimes.
