Crawdad Chronicles 32.04 - Luis Espinosa to test Free Agency

The New Orleans Crawdads have informed SP Luis Espinosa that they will not be offering him a contract extension and will allow him to test free agency.

Espinosa, 33, is rumored to be seeking a 6 year 100M contract. Espinosa, who has been in the 'dads starting rotation since 2021 thanked the fans for their support over the last 12 seasons. "Its been a great ride, but unfortunatly this is a business at the end of the day" Espinosa noted.

GM Jim Roberts echoed similar thoughts. "we've enjoyed having Luis here. He certainly had a good career for us, and we wish him the best of luck in his future endevors.

Luis Espinosa finishes his careeer in New Orleans with a record of 128-107 with a 3.63 ERA.

For his part, GM Jim Roberts tried to move him at the trade deadline but did not have any willing suitors. Its unclear at this point whether Luis's demand will be met on the Free Agency market. a 100M contract is oging to be hard for teams to swallow.
