This wasnt supposed to be their year. New Orleans knew they had a stellar starting rotation, and had some good young bats in the lineup, and pretty good defense, but there was a few missing peices. New Orleans traded away Jeffery Waller, and was in desparate need of a Closer and some middle relief help. New Orleans needed a Catcher. Their middle IF was hurting. A playoff berth wasnt out of the question, but it was far from guarenteed.
Things played out about as expected. New Orleans finished the season 82-80, good enough for a wildcard in the crazy parity of the Frick League in 2024.
Then a miracle happend. They knocked off Calgary in the Geoghegan Round. Then they beat a very good Las Vegas squad in the Doubleday Series. Now, New Orleans, a team just better than .500 is one of just 4 teams left chasing the Landis. Now they will take on division rival Indianapolis for a shot at representing the Frick League for MBWBA's biggest prize.
