Crawdad Chronicles 63.04 - Crawdads keep 64 year streak alive!

Bad News: New Orleans lost 98 games - and had their worst season since 1995.

Good News: New Orleans hasn't lost 100 games since 1995 - and kept their streak alive!

New Orleans is...a mess. Years of poor defense. Poor development. Poor Roster Management. It has all lead to this moment. 64-98 is just unacceptable. GM Jim Roberts seeks to overhaul the roster - and the front office.

It just needs to change. we've done a good job of overhauling our minor league system. We have some good prospects on their way. We have some exciting new players (citing Rookie CL Eduardo Jiminez and OF Pedro Mitchell). But we simply need to have better pitching and defense - or we're just not going to compete. its that simple.

The Crawdads enter the offseaosn with nearly 70M to spend in Free Agency - enough to make a dent. But this has been similar to past season. Few strong players make it to Free Agency. And there hasnt been a quality middle infielder in years.

"Its hard to get better in Free Agency. You need to develop your own - and then look for a couple veterans with a few years left in free agency to supplement" Roberts said.

2064 is unlikely to be significantly better. But it cant be much worse - or the streak will end.
