New Orleans has not had the team they desire over the past few years. A perennial all star team, the Crawdads have changed course and kept many of their aging stars over the past few seasons. Its a trend that started several years ago when the Crawdads had way too many players with No Trade Clauses. But this has also allowed the Crawdads to rebuild their minor league system, which is currently ranked 3rd in the BBA.
The most prized prospect is OF Peter Mitchell (https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 70122.html). Mitchell, a 2060 2nd round pick from the show-me-state of Missouri has shown the crawdads he can play. In just 2 seasons he has gone from an average Rookie ball player to the #2 prospect in the game. After spending most of 2060 and 2061 in SA ball, this year he jumped right to AA - where he hit .318/.417/.472 in 48 games. The crawdads decided to bump him up to AAA, where he has hit 10 HRs in 61 games, and most impressively, 37 Base on Balls in those 61 games, as he has an incredibly eye at the plate.
His defense is solid, but not spectacular. He isnt going to steal 30+ bases. But at the plate New Orleans believes he can excel. His 8/8/7/7/7/11 potential is impressive.
The crawdads are unsure how to proceed from here. He is clearly getting frustrated not being with the big club. He could however, use some additional growth.
He missed his golden opportunity when OF Callum McKay went on the DL with planter fascitis, but with McKay coming back to join Jamie Angwin and Eduardo Correa in the OF, its not immediatly clear where Mitchell will fit in.
Regardless...Mitchell should be up full time next season (and perhaps even september). But in any event, his future is bright in the big easy.

He could hold his own but I wouldn't call him up yet.

Haven’t seen an 11 rating in a while. Wonder if that’ll be a 10 in the new version.
