New Orleans 39.03 - New Orleans welcomes gillstrom

Post by JimBob2232 » Thu Jun 27, 2019 4:58 pm

Today the New Orleans crawdads announces a major signing of 2B Gilstrom.

Gillstrom is signed to a one year deal worth approximately 25 million dollars.

New Orleans recently cleaned out a bunch of cap space after releasing slumping laloosh - who also recently got into a fight with manager Eric bell.

With the release, we Orleans frees up about 23 million in cap space, but has to ear approximately 70M dollars over the best 3 seasons.

New Orleans has great profitability and should be coming up on some good cash control years, so gm Jim Roberts isn’t too concerned with the cash outlay. “The owner wants to win, and win now” Roberts said. This is the type of thing we needed to to compete and win.

New Orleans retooled a lot this off-season, it this was by far the biggest move. And it fills a critical gap. 2B was a problem last year. As was SS. Now with gillstrom, half of that equation is solved. And now Ruiz, Rameriez and Harlan Moore can compete for the other slot.

Congrats. Nice to see Gillstrom end up in his hometown. He should elevate you into the playoff picture.

At one point I offered 2 years and $60 million.... then chickened out and didn't export cause it would have went against my plan.
