Rookie Víctor Trevino (5-5 3.75) has notched five wins in a row as a follower or bulk pitcher, including two wins against Twin Cities and one against Chicago.

The Maryland native made the Kernels roster after posting a 1.69 ERA in 18 games during spring training. At some point his stamina blipped from two to three, and he started getting bulks, that is, the role of pitching the "bulk" of games without actually starting (he also has four conventional starts). The current 45-rated starter is rated 55 as a reliever and has a 65 potential.

With five straight wins as a "follower" or bulk pitcher, he has been rightly voted by fans as today's starter, er, he will resume his role as a follower, against Louisville for Fan Appreciation Day. A win will tie the season series 7-7 and improve the Kernels chance at a wildcard spot.

Trevino usually follows Raúl Castanelda but the latter is scheduled to start, with Amaya injured Duarte sitting, so the likely opener will be Pepe Domínguez, who has posted a 2.61 ERA in 14 appearances as a "table setter," aka opener. Domínguez also has a 2.76 ERA as a reliever.
