KT 62.32- With Haiku Flinn out, McLeod steps in

1b Huckleberry 'Haiku' Flinn (7/6/5) is out for a couple of weeks. Carl McLeod (also 7/6/5), called up last week, moves into the open position at first base. The latter has started hot, smashing eight hits in his first 14 at bats (hitting safely in all four games versus SFB). Flinn was projected with a 3.7 WAR before the injury. He's currently leading DM with .327 BA and 63 starts in 65 games (did we start him too much?).

Another way of looking at this is that DMO's 2060 #2 pick is the injury replacement for the DMO's 2059 #1 pick. Flinn, whose WE was maximized a couple of season's ago, just learned first base this spring, and he has an 8 to 7 defensive rating at first, compared to McLeod, while the latter has an infield range of 5 versus 4. The team, like many like it, has other options at first, and has decided to go with this one. McLeod was hitting .389 at AAA El Paso before being called up. His round 1 cohort of DM's 2060 ammy draft is also on the team, hitting .267 and likely to see more starts at second versus lhp. We're talking Jesús Rosito (6/6/5).

Flinn's had four injuries already in 2062. He didn't have much of a history so it makes sense you were starting him nearly every day but it doesn't seem like he body handled it well.
