2053.3 Silk/Puckett Candidates

In ending the most infamous drought in BBA history (yes, moreso than the Yellow Springs title drought), there are numerous offensive players who deserve consideration for league-wide awards this season, including some who should be outright favorites.

CF Hector Cano Jr: Hector was one of two tentpole acquisitions this offseason by GM Randy Weigand, and he more than justified his lofty price tag (despite one of the players going the opposite direction being a Silk contender himself in Malik Bin Mazin. Believe it or not Cano actually cooled off a bit the last month or so, but you wouldnt know it looking at the numbers.

RF Aaron Haney: If it is possible for a former silk winner to be traded straight up for one of the best pitchers in the history of the game and for the trade to be under the radar, we had that occurrence this past offseason when Des Moines shipped out Alaric Wullenweber in exchange for Haney in a veteran challenge trade. Haney rose to the occasion, putting together a fine season hitting at the top of the Des Moines lineup.
