Breaking news out of Des Moines, the Kernels have failed to sign their first round draft pick, CF Chris McFadden. Rumour has it that McFadden walked away after only two rounds of negotiation. The Kernels and McFadden were rumoured to be only a couple of million dollars apart.

Asked about the failure, GM Webb stated bluntly “I don’t know who’s advising this kid, but clearly they don’t understand the direction the Kernels are going and they clearly don’t understand how business negotiations are conducted. We wish Chris good luck in the future, he’s going to need it”.

Reached for comment, McFadden replied “Chris McFadden doesn’t need luck, Chris McFadden is Chris McFadden”.
