Des Moines signs the hilariously named, Dick Pinard as the new hitting coach.

Dick had a relatively flacid minor league career. Prematurely coming to and end after only seven seasons. Asked about his relatively weak performance, Dick sublimely replied:
“This is normal, happens to everybody at some point.”

Since washing out of the minors, the 57-year old native of Montreal, PQ has been bouncing around various professions in the greater Montreal area and with a name like Dick Pinard and Montreal’s reputation, one can only imagine what he did to make money.

When questioned about his new hitting coach’s questionable past by the Des Moines Register's Roh Rindfleisch, GM webb only replied. “I’m not here to talk about what Dick’s been up to, all I care is that he can get my guys past first base, preferably to third or home!”.
