August 7 - 10, 2040


The Kernels continue an eleven game home stand against the Omaha Hawks. The series was split between the teams, each winning two games.


August 7, 2040. The Omaha Hawks scored three runs in the third inning. The Kernels were only able to score one run in the eighth inning. The Hawks won 3 to 1 over the Kernels. Kernel’s starting pitcher, Tsunesaburo Hasimoto, had his second loss of the season, going 7.1 innings, giving up five hits, three runs, and three BB. Hawk’s starting pitcher Thomas Rodriguez, earned his third win of the season, going 8 innings, giving up five hits, one run and one BB. Rodriguez was named the player of the game.


August 8, 2040. The Kernels scored one run in the second inning, two runs in the sixth inning, and five runs in the seventh inning. The Omaha Hawks scored three runs in the fourth inning, three runs in the fifth inning, and one run in the seventh inning. The Kernels squeaked out the 8 to 7 win over the Hawks. Kernel’s relief pitcher, Able van Gastel, earned his third win of the season, going 3.2 innings, giving up three hits, one run, and zero BB. Hawk’s relief pitcher, Mutsuhito Imal, had his third loss of the season, going 1 inning, giving up four hits, five runs, and two BB. Hawk’s first baseman, Edgardo Diaz, was named the player of the game with three hits, two runs including one home run, and four RBIs.


August 9, 2040. The Omaha Hawks scored three runs in the second inning, one run in the sixth inning, and one run in the ninth inning. The Kernels scored two runs in the third inning, one run in the fourth inning, and one run in the ninth inning, tying up the game at 4 all at the end of nine innings of play. The Kernels finally scored two runs in the twelfth inning, winning the game 7 to 5 over the Hawks. Kernel’s relief pitcher, Francisco Rodriguez, earned his fifth win of the season, going 1 innings, giving up two hits. Hawk’s relief pitcher, David Rivas, had his first loss of the season, going 1.1 inning, giving up two hits, one run, and zero BB. Kernel’s right fielder, Gerbrand de Best, was named the player of the game with three hits, two runs, and five RBIs. De Best had two home runs including the game winning two run home run in the twelfth inning.


August 10, 2040. The Omaha Hawks scored three runs in the second inning, one run in the fifth inning, and one run in the ninth inning. The Kernels scored two runs in the fourth inning, and two runs in the ninth inning. The Hawks won 5 to 4 over the Kernels. Kernel’s starting pitcher, Mario Villarreal, had his sixth loss of the season, going 6.1 innings, giving up eight hits, four runs, and one BB. Hawk’s relief pitcher, Ricardo Ortiz, earned his third win of the season, going 4.2 innings, giving up three hits, two runs, and one BB. Hawk’s second baseman, Jake Williams, was named the player of the game with three hits, two runs including one home run, and three RBIs. Hawk’s starting pitcher, Eillot Buckland was injured while pitching.
