Series Recap Kernels vs Surfers 2040-08

The Kernels end a ten game home stand with a disappointing four game series against the Long Beach Surfers, as the Surfers swept the series.


July 27, 2040. The Kernels scored one run in the first inning, one run in the fourth inning, and two runs in the ninth inning. The Long Beach Surfers scored one run in the second inning, two runs in the third inning, one run in the fifth inning, and two runs in the ninth inning. The Surfers won 6 to 4 over the Kernels. Kernel’s starting pitcher, Jose Rivera, had his fifth loss of the season, going 5.1 innings, giving up eight hits, four runs, and three BB. Surfer’s starting pitcher, Jimmy Greenwood, earned his seventh win of the season, going 6 innings, giving up seven hits, two runs, and zero BB. Surfer’s, third baseman, Michael Best, was named the player of the game with two hits, two runs including one home run, and one RBI.


July 28, 2040. The Kernels started the game out right scoring four runs in the first inning. However, they were unable to score any additional runs. The Long Beach Surfers outscored the Kernels with one run in the second inning, three runs in the third inning to tie up the game. The Surfers continued with three additional runs in the fifth inning and added one more in the seventh inning. The Surfers won 8 to 4 over the Kernels. Kernel’s starting pitcher, Duane Coutts, had his tenth loss of the season, going 4.1 innings, giving up seven hits, seven runs, and three BB. Surfer’s starting pitcher, Cris Rios, earned his ninth win of the season, going 6 innings, giving up five hits, four runs, and two BB. Surfer’s first baseman, Enrique Gomez, was named the player of the game, with three hits, three runs including a three run home run, and six RBIs.


July 29, 2040. The Long Beach Surfers continue to pound the Kernels as they shut them out with a 5 to 0 win. The Surfers scored one run in the first inning, one run in the third inning, one run in the fourth inning, one run in the seventh inning, and one run in the ninth inning. The Kernels had seven hits, however, they were unable to send anyone across home plate. Kernel’s starting pitcher, Greg Palmer, had his seventh loss of the season, going 7 innings, giving up seven hits, four runs, and three BB. Surfer’s starting pitcher, Danya Tchekanov, earned his ninth win of the season, going 5.1 innings, giving up four hits, zero runs and one BB. Techekanov was named the player of the game.


July 30. 2040. The game started out as a pitching duel, with the Kernels scoring first with one in the fifth inning. The Long Beach Surfers scored three runs in the seventh inning. The Surfers won 3 to 1 over the Kernels. Kernel’s starting pitcher, Mario Villarreal, had his fifth loss of the season, going 8 innings, giving up eight hits, three runs, and three BB. Surfer’s starting pitcher, Pierre Legrand, earned his seventh win of the season, going 6.1 innings, giving up three hits, one run, and four BB. Legrand was named the player of the game.
