Series Recap Kernels vs Tropics 2040-04

The Kernels start a seven game road trip with a four game series with the Hawaii Tropics. The teams end up splitting the series with two wins each.


July 13, 2040. The Hawaii Tropics scored six runs in the third inning, and one run in the seventh inning. Seven runs were not enough to win the game as the Kernels scored one run in the fourth inning, four runs in the sixth inning, and three runs in the ninth inning, winning the game 8 to 7 over the Tropics. Kernel’s relief pitcher, Francisco Rodriguez, earned his second win, going 1 inning, striking out two, and giving up zero hits, runs, and BB. Tropics’ relief pitcher, Norm McConnell, had his fifth loss of the season, going 1 inning, giving up four hits, three runs, and zero BB. Kernel’s left fielder, Hector Cruz, was named the player of the game. Cruz went 4 for 4, with three runs, and two RBIs.


July 14, 2040. The Hawaii Tropics scored one run in the first inning, four runs in the third inning, one run in the fifth inning, and one run in the seventh inning. The Kernels scored two runs in the sixth inning, and one run in the ninth inning. The Tropics won 7 to 3 over the Kernels. Kernel’s starting pitcher, Greg Palmer, had his sixth loss of the season, going 2.2 innings, giving up seven hits, five runs, and one BB. Tropics’ starting pitcher, Patrick Patchett, earned his sixth win of the season, going 6.1 innings, giving up seven hits, two runs and one BB. Tropics’ center fielder, Luis Costello, was named the player of the game, with three hits, three runs including one home run, and two RBIs.


July 15, 2040. The Kernels scored four runs in the second inning. The Hawaii Tropics came back with two runs in the fourth inning. The Kernels won 4 to 2 over the Tropics. Kernel’s starting pitcher, Don Smith, earned his fourth win of the season, going 6.2 innings, giving up six hits, two runs, and zero BB. Smith was named the player of the game. Tropics’ starting pitcher, Luis Torres, had his sixth loss of the season, going 8 innings, giving up seven hits, four runs, and three BB. Kernel’s short stop, James Holman, hit a three run home run in the second inning.


July 16, 2040. The Hawaii Tropics scored two runs in the second inning, and one run in the third inning. The Kernels scored one run in the fifth inning and one run in the ninth inning. The Tropics won 3 to 2 over the Kernels, splitting the four game series. Kernel’s starting pitcher, Juan Garcia, had is sixth loss of the season, going 6 innings, giving up six hits, three runs, and two BB. Tropics’ starting pitcher, Jermaine Clayton, earned his sixth win of the season, going 6.1 innings, giving up four hits, one run, and two BB. Clayton was named the player of the game. Kernel’s short stop, James Holman, was injured while running the bases.
