This off season, from the free agent class, the Des Moines Kernels picked up 2 offensive players, outfielder, Jorge Rodriguez, and second baseman, Gerardo Guzman. Both players signed a 6 year contract, left fielder, Jorge Rodriguez, signed a contract worth a total of $49,500,000 and second baseman, Gerardo Guzman, 6 year contract is worth a total of $51,000,000.
GM, Ed Murphy said, “the main reason in signing Jorge and Gerardo was offence production. In the 2037 season, the Kernels were at the bottom team ranking at 15th in runs scored (647), batting average (.237) and on base percentage (.303). Jorge has a career batting average of (.302), on base percentage of (.394) and Gerardo has a career batting average of (.293), on base percentage of (.354). We are now planning to platoon Jorge with Long Chamberlain III, having Jorge hitting against rights.”
