Series Recap Kernels vs Hawks In the middle of a 10 game road trip the Kernels are at Omaha, Hawks Field and are hungry to change their luck after losing 3 of 4 against Hawaii Tropics.

May 10, 2036 In the post-game interview , Des Moines Manager, Josh McConnell said “if you are going see a pitching duel this was the game to watch.” The Kernels placed Elwood Blues on the hill, the Hawks countered with 26 year old, right hand pitcher, Hirotada Miura. Miura picked up the win with 9 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. The Des Moines Kernels got a great performance from pitcher Elwood, but the Hawks still prevailed 2-0. He threw 8 innings allowing 2 runs and striking out 8. Elwood said “I only threw 2 bad pitches. The bad news is both went for home runs. This is the type of game you just move on from. This game would have been a tough loss for either team today.”

May 11, 2036 In the top of the fifth, the Kernels broke the game open batting through the order and scoring 8 runs. Willie Carter started the scoring with a 401 feet home run blast. Later in the inning William Moreland hit a 346 feet grand slam. Then Willie put a cherry on the inning, hitting his second home run of the inning. Ragnar Lothbrok earned his fifth win of the season. The final score was an old CB slang phrase call 10 -4.

May 12, 2036 The Kernels came up short losing the rubber game against the Hawks 3-4. Kernels and Hawks battled to 3 -3 tie over nine innings but in the bottom of the 11, third baseman, Emilio Morales, made contact on a 1 -1 slider from Abel Van Gastel for a walk off solo home run. Kernels lost the game 3-4 and the series.
