Series Recap Kernels vs River Monsters This is the Des Moines Kernels first visited to Twin Cities River Monsters Land O' Lakes Ballpark. 5 – 11 Kernels are looking to turn their season around against the 10 – 5 River Monsters.

April 19, 2036 In front of 44,703 unfriendly fans, Elwood Blues, was superb against Twin Cities. The right-hander, who was a 19 game winner in the 2035 season, had a slider that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was an 8 - 2 Kernels victory. The offence was provided by the long ball from SS Dong-soo Chon, OF Joao Silva, and 1B Willie Carter. "We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup today" said Des Moines skipper, Josh McConnell.

April 20, 2036 1 -2 Kernels pitcher, Mario Villarreal vs 2 -1 River Monsters pitcher, Jerry Coyle looks to be a good matchup on paper but, Jerry Coyle. pitched a gem to lead River Monsters to a 6-2 victory over the Des Moines Kernels. Jerry, now 3-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking zero, and allowing 1 earned run.

April 21, 2036 Still looking for their first division series win the Kernels called on right hand pitcher, Ragnar Lothbrok to take the hill. Kernels got off to an early lead when OF Roberto Lopez singled to drive in William Hardy in the first inning. The River Monsters battled back and took a 2 1 lead in the bottom of the fourth before the bats came alive for the Kernels. Kernels exploded for 5 runs in the fifth. Ernesto Garza, the veteran third baseman, belted a Grand Slam home run in the top of the fifth, which delivered the big hit the Kernels were hoping for. The long ball put Kernels on top, 6-2. Garza was 1 for 5 with a home run. Kernels went on to win the game 6 -5 and took their first division series win.
