There are few players by whom you can always count on. William Moreland stands out as one of those players. In his seven seasons in the majors, William has reached 30 plus home runs and 90 plus RBI’s every year. It is just sugar on the top, when the 28 year old hits a milestone of 300 home runs with less than 4200 at bats. Moreland averaged a home run in 1 of 4 hits. What makes it even more impressive is that he did it in the years when the Kernels weren’t competitive, leaving him as the one only true threat in the lineup. Moreland’s name naturally comes up on the trade rumors each season, but GM Ed Murphy has not entertained any offers. A move might further boost his stats, but he’s proven that his remarkable consistency carries on even in this environment. Willian said, ”I has always have been a long ball hitter. I have been able to pick up the ball early coming out of the pitcher’s hand and making good contact with the ball. If you do that well you will always have a good result.” What is your best recollection playing ball? “I would have to say my 2027 season, in El Paso, when I hit 59 home runs and drove in 160.” Currently Moreland is second on the Kernel’s team batting leader list in home runs only 3 behind Niguel Halime who has a total of 303.
