Spring Training Recap 2035 The Des Moines Kernels started spring training on the road against Edmonton Jackrabbits

February 25, 2035 The Kernels started with right hand thrower Ragnar Lothbrok on the mound. Ragnar went through 4 innings, giving up 3 hits, 1 earned run, striking out one and allowed one free pass. Ragnar left the game with a 2-1 lead. The bull pen staff then gave up 6 earned runs. Catcher, Cisco Arreola, was named player of the game. Cisco went 2 for 2 scoring 2 runs, driving in 2 RBI’s, and 1 walk. Both of Cisco’s hits were solo home runs going 395ft and 346ft. Edmonton went on to win the game 7 – 4.

March 13, 2035 Patrick Patchett is taking the mound for the third time in spring training. Patrick was an effective pitcher, throwing out a total of 57 pitches, 38 for strikes, allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits and 1 strike out in a total of 4 innings. Outfielder, Hector Cantu, was very productive for the 8th spot going 2 for 3, and 1 walk. Both Rbi’s came off a 2 run home run in the bottom of the 8th giving the Kernels the lead. The Kernels went on to win the game 7 – 6.

Pratchett has been good, and should keep being at least fairly good.

Des Moines has some work to do, but they have enough talent to surprise a few folks.
