TN 2034-10
The Des Moines Kernels completed a trade with Long Beach Surfers for outfielder Howard Parrish (5/6/5/4/8 Talents) in exchange for 1.7 million dollars. GM, Ed Murphy, talked about the trade. “We felt we gave Howard the time to develop as a hitter but he is just unable to hit major league level pitching. In his 350 games with 1137 at bats Howard career numbers are .216/.258/.320. One thing Howard did well was steal bases collecting 88 and only 18 times he was caught. He is also a good defensive player with a positive range for all three positions. After we acquired Dave Brunskill (7/6/6/6/7 Talents), from California Crusaders, who is hitting .292/.347/.449 with 7 home runs and 20 RBI’s as a Kernel, we felt Howard was expendable. We were just looking to recovery the signing bonus in the trade. We wish him the best of luck going forward.”
