In the club house William reviewed his at bats, “I was seeing the ball great today, picking up the spin on the ball just after the pitcher released it. In the first inning all I wanted to do was make contact. We had Dave Brunskill (7/6/6/6/7 Ratings) on third with one out. I got a broken bat single to right center and we were on the board. In the bottom of the second, I was up again, Edris Mtume (10/8/6 Ratings) was still on the mound for the Hawks and on a 1-0 fastball, I was all over it with a line drive down the first base line ending up with a double. It is not very often you have 3 at bats by the 4th inning, collecting your third hit of the game just out of reach of the second base man. In the 5th and the 8th both were just well hit balls for singles. Today was not a big power day for me, Omaha was pitching me outside of my power zone. All I did was to take what they were giving me.”

Is William Moreland the Joey Votto of the Des Moines Kernels?

Votto is a better double hitter and OBP, Moreland gives you more home runs both play for a losing clubs. Moreland would have All Star numbers if he was on a winning club like MTL, LV, YS or LOU.

Hard to say Moreland has been underperforming.....but over the last year and a half, he has been.
