TN Moreland Extension 2034-06
Kernels fans are very ecstatic after hearing the breaking news that 1B, William Moreland (8/7/10/6/6 Ratings), signed a 6 year 70.2 million contract extension. The contract will keep Moreland on the team though the 2041 season when he will be 34 years old. Moreland is extremely popular with the fans. During the 2033 season, 4 out of 10 jersey sales included Moreland’s name and number, and fan interest jumped by 7 points which should be good for ticket sales. Moreland has been with the Kernels for the last 6 seasons. Since joining the team he has been very productive, hitting 255 home runs, (third on the all time home run team leaderboard) , 677 RBI’s (fourth on the all time team leaderboard), 1981 total bases, and a .373 OBP with only 3931 plate appearances. Before spring training started I sat down with Moreland ask him a few questions.
Collin Robert “Are you happy with the contract?”
William Moreland (8/7/10/6/6 Ratings) “I’m very happy, very happy with the contract. Now all I need to do is concentrate on baseball, just baseball, I have no need to worry about my future. My agent gave me a call about a week or two after the season ended and wanted to know if I would listen to a contract extension, if the team was able to unload P Juan Hernandez. I said I’m always open to talking. I was looking for a 72 million contract and when I saw the team’s offer, I knew they wanted me. No team options. That is GM Ed Murphy’s, MO having the last year or two as a team option.
CR, “How do you feel about the new coaches?”
WM “I love it. Manager, Josh McConnell, and I have a very good relationship. Josh makes it clear what he is looking for out of every player. Hitting coach, Sebastien Fournier, is a breath of fresh air. Sebastien is the first coach to concentrate on my power. We are working on the swing and I see more home runs in the upcoming season.”
CR who do you think will be surprise about your extension
WM “That is easy. Who else but Kernels number one fan, Eleanor Rigby.”

Re: TN Moreland Extension 2034-06
there are worse guys to build a team around. Should be close to (if not over) 500 HR if he stays healthy through this deal, plus the leadership he brings.

Love William Moreland, and under $12m per season is a steal! Wish I could have gotten that value on Rutledge.

Re: TN Moreland Extension 2034-06
Yeah, despite the Kernels' downward trend, this was a good signing. Value for a long time, and even if he crashes at the end, it's a value that can be handled.
