Kernel of Truth 63.10 — 2062/63 Dev Center Trends

The DMO has sent 10 players to the brand new redesigned Development Center, dubbed the Kernel Popper. This blog was not able to obtain the name of every participant, but it's known that of the 10 slots, seven are filled with pitchers and three of these are at the ML level. This includes Micah Harrington, Salah Lutfi, and RP Alphonse Lease. Harrington is one of three players whose focus will be on Strength and Conditioning, along with 3b Felix Parreno, who's 35 and signed for three more seasons, and 20-y.o. infield prospect Alfredo Gonzales (2062, round 2). The three Conditioning Programs are the only "orange" level programs scheduled. The rest are green.

1b Alonso Flinn is the other Kernel in the Popper, and he'll be working on running mechanics. Maybe success at this green-level program can stop the continual assault of injuries he had in '62, some of which were sustained running the basepaths. Four minor league pitchers bring the development crowd to 10. Their focus is improving pitch movement.

In other news, the secondary roster stands at 36 players. Two or three are on the bubble as to whether they'll remain. One outfielder may be added.
