PITCHER OF THE YEAR
Image
Sakutaro Kawano

There was no question that the ace of the staff is Kawano. He has held down the best pitcher spot for two of the last three seasons, pitching well in 2055 and 2057 and having a rough season in 2056. There were some questions as to whether the odd/even split would hold true and he would have some trouble this year but all of that was put to rest when he had a great start in April going 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA. He continued with winning records for the remainder of the months until he hit September and went 1-2 with a 6.04 ERA over 5 starts. However, the year as a total was a huge success and Kawano went 14-6 with a 3.02 ERA giving up 190 hits and 43 walks over 208.1 innings. He added 163 strikeouts which was in line with his career totals. His 2058 totals saw him earn the most wins of his career in a single season and the least losses. He added 21 quality starts (65.6%) and threw 2 complete games with 1 shutout. Overall the front office is extremely happy with the ace pitcher and they are excited to go into next season with Kawano as the top of the rotation.

SECOND PLACE
Starter Edmond Thomas – Thomas was slated for the 3rd or 4th starter position going into the season. He exceeded all projections for the year by going 14-11 with a 3.60 ERA. Early in the season he had a few relief appearances, but he put it all together over April and May going 5-3 in the first two months of the season. It was his best season as a professional.
