#25 Sakutaro Kawano
In an effort to completely jinx the last few starts of the season we want to highlight San Antonio starter Sakutaro Kawano who is having a career year. The 9 year veteran has started at least 28 games each year since his rookie campaign and his 13-5 record is easily the best of his career. He made his second straight all-star game, and 3rd overall, and is the best starter on the Outlaw staff. Kawano’s 2.84 ERA is almost a full click below his previous best when he posted 3.62 back in 2055. Kawano’s 21 quality starts are tied for 1st in the league with Dave Corfield from Mexico City and Micah Harrington from New Orleans. Some awesome pitchers to be mentioned alongside for sure. Kawano also leads the league in rWAR with 6.4, 0.6 points above second place Steve Warren from Vancouver. Overall Kawano has pitched 196.1 innings allowing 174 hits, 15 homers and 40 walks while striking out 154 batters. He has a career low 1.09 WHIP and is getting a ton of help from the elite defense being played in the field. The popular righthander is signed for another 4 seasons and will be 34 years old when it comes time to look at a new deal. The front office is hopeful that he will continue to be an integral part of the resurgence in San Antonio.
