On the Lam, 57.3 - Kawano is the lone All Star from San Anton

The Outlaws have had a rough start to the 2057 season, falling to 15 games below .500 by the end of June. That left them near the bottom of the pack in the Frontier Division with only the lowly Jackrabbits below them. Upper Management is worried about the current crop of players and whether they have the gusto to get into the top half of the Frontier. One player that they have not had to worry about much is previous all star Sakutaro Kawano. He was voted into the 2055 All Star game when he had his breakout season for the Outlaws by pitching a 3.62 ERA, going 13-12 on the year with a 1.22 WHIP (suck it those who don’t like WHIP, lol) and a 5.4 WAR.

Kawano didn’t have as much success in ’56 but he started ’57 with some similar ball, going only 6-9 through the first half but posting a sub 4.00 ERA while racking up 106 strikeouts in roughly 120 innings pitched. He clearly was the ace of the staff during the first 3 months of the season. Unfortunately for Kawano the remainder of the team didn’t produce any All Star worthy players so he has basically been a one man show. If this continues we may see a full tear down by upper management to get this thing going in the right direction instead of hanging out in the middle of the Frontier year after year.
