On the Lam, 55.5 - We are... slightly below average criminals.

Well, the 2055 season is in the books. It is the second full season of running the Outlaws and things have been a bit more comfortable. It had been a few real life years since I had opened up OOTP and it took quite a while to get used to the program again. Some of the articles posted on the forums helped a ton regarding what screens GMs look at when they process each sim. That opened some ideas for sure. Anyways, how did things end up?

San Antionio finished with a 79-83 record. Ugh. Not good enough. The runs scored vs runs allowed told a slightly different story with a 755-745 differential. That is better and suggests that the 7th place finish in the Frontier was a little bit of a letdown but the team was just 2 games out from Edmonton who sat in 4th place. The team’s recent win loss record since their championship season in 2044 is as follows;

2045 72-90 6th place
2046 79-83 6th place
2047 81-81 6th place
2048 76-86 5th place
2049 63-99 7th place
2050 66-96 7th place
2051 77-85 5th place
2052 74-88 6th place
2053 67-95 6th place
2054 70-92 8th place
2055 79-83 7th place

Long story short is that it has been a rough, rough decade for Outlaw fans. Never better than .500 and never higher than 5th place. The Frontier is clearly the most competitive division in the BBA and there is hope that slight improvements year in and year out could get the team out of the bottom half of the division and into the top half. When the commish is holding down the bottom spot you know that the future is going to be tough but we’re ready for it. The Heartland is clearly the class of the Frick League but has such a clear differentiation between the top 4 teams and the bottom 4 teams. Then there is the best to worst case for the Atlantic division with ATC finishing up 64 games back. I didn’t even want to mention the Pacific but I did.

As a goal we are looking to shred some of the poor contracts that still sit on the books. I’m looking at you Owbridge (6 yr, $75.3M) and Strolz (5 yr, $71.2M). They have been somewhat of a plus value but at that price point they are prohibiting us from getting into the top half of the division.

Feel your pain, brother. Like I said in my preview of your team, we're in very similar situations. Just glad I don't have to compete in the Frontier.
