One of the bright spots for the Outlaws in 2054 is the play of 28 year old veteran outfielder Bill Cole. His big league career began last year when he was called up for 9 games with the Outlaws posting a .292/1/3 stat line in 24 at bats. As a 28 year old rookie he was a case study for perseverance and hard work. Early in his baseball career he was known for his glove and defense winning a Beau Marsh gold glove back in 2049 when he was with Single A Shreveport. He was originally drafted in the 4th round of the 2047 draft and wound his way through the minors, starring in two all star games while in Short Season and also Single A.
This season he has been smashing the ball at the plate to go along with his glove work in right field. He has appeared in 33 games so far and has batted .280 with 13 homeruns and 21 ribbies, best for team lead for homers. He has gotten 16 walks and holds a .374 on base percentage. His 1.3 WAR is tied for team lead with catcher Calvin Johnson. His efforts culminated with a Player of the Week award for the Johnson league for the week of May 5th through the 11th.

Glad to see the fringe guys make it to the bigs and find success. Good thing playing against the vaunted Liberty in 2049 didn't ruin him!
