The Outlaw Chronicles 2045-8 Outlaws Trade Alicea

Outlaws Trade Alicea

Well, that was fast. Fresh off a Landis Championship, and with very little turnover on the roster, the San Antonio Outlaws were expecting to be a strong playoff contender for years to come. Apparently that plan did not make it's way down to the team as the Outlaws have limped out of the starting gate and have looked still hungover from last years title.

Looking to spark the team, GM Calvaruso decided to trade Landis Game 7 Hero, SP Julio Alicea, and will be promoting AAA SP Reid Jensen. "We warned the guys to be careful this offseason but it is extremely difficult with all the talk show appearances and card signings that go with winning a Landis. Most of the guys spoke very candidly to us about their lack of offseason training and bombardment with promotional engagement's from their agents". GM Calvaruso explained at the press conference. "We knew there would be some adjustment but didn't quite expect this. We will be forever grateful for Julio's gutty performance in Game 7 last year, but this move is in the best interest of the team long term".

"We lose an excellent leader and great pitcher, but was able to bring some quality youth into the system with the addition of 1B Anibal Benavides and SP Arturo Baez. Obviously more moves could come if we are unable to pull out of this nosedive, but lets try and stay positive".

The early candidate to fill Alicea's spot appears to be AAA SP Reid Jensen. Jensen is sporting a 7-2 record in 10 starts so far in Austin with a sparkling 1.88 ERA.
