Heading to the Landis

Your San Antonio Outlaws met their opponent on the fields of war and waged a fierce battle against division rival Edmonton Jackrabbits, and though bloodied and weary, vanquished the vile demons from the BBA playoffs in spectacular fashion 4 games to 0. And after picking through the wreckage and claiming the spoils of war, returned triumphantly home to their women and wine awaiting their next victim.

Game 1: Lefty SP Julio Alicea showed why he was a highly wanted Free Agent signing for the Outlaws, keeping the Jackrabbits in check for 5.2 innings allowing only 4 earned runs before handing things over the the pen to finish off for the 4-3 victory. The offense came through with 11 Hits, but the hero of the game was the hot hitting CF Mennac Shakes who went 3-4 with an RBI giving the Outlaws a 1 game to none lead in the series.

Game 2: The surprise of the season continued as SP Francisco Cardona brought his regular season success to the postseason with him, pushing the Outlaws to a game 2 victory of 3-2 and a 2-0 lead in the series. Cardona went 6.2 inning's striking out 6 holding Edmonton to 2 earned runs. SS Chip Puckett produced the deciding hit in the bottom of the 9th with a run scoring off Albert Love.

Game 3: The Outlaws leave the friendly confines of The Tap Room and travel to John Ducey Park, but were able to keep the momentum and snatched a 4-3 win from the home team. Steve Nebraska Golden Arm candidate, SP Ricardo Rivera went 6.1 innings allowing 2 Runs with 6 K's and RF Pedro Bustamante blasting his second playoff homer. With the Outlaws now up 3 games to none in the series, the sense of urgency coming from the Edmonton dugout goes nuclear.

Game 4: SP Ruben Vazquez led the Outlaws to the series deciding 5-4 victory with 5 innings of 1 Run, 8 k ball. The bullpen made things somewhat interesting but RF Pedro Bustamante and 3B Alfredo Rosas provided all the fireworks needed each blasting 2 Run homers.

The Outlaws now face Frick league juggernaut Long Beach Surfers in the Landis and expect to find themselves in another no holds barred battle royale for the right to hoist the Landis Trophy. To the victor, goes the spoils.
