Wow! Talk about a meteoric rise. In just one quick year San Antonio RF Pedro Bustamante has gone from College star, 1st round selection in the BBA amateur draft, became starting Right Fielder for the Outlaws, and can now say he is the BBA Johnson League Batting Champion.

The 23 yr old Bolivian has clearly justified his selection of 3rd overall pick in the 2042 draft and has become a very important cog in the Big Red Machine of the 2043 season. Pedro finished the regular season with a superb .335 BA, .397 OBP, .639 SLG, and a sizable 5.3 WAR. He accomplished this with 154 Hits in 460 PA's, 32 HR's, 90 RBIS' and only 65 K's.

Bustamante was quoted "Estoy orgulloso de mis logros, pero no estaría aquí sin mis compañeros. Tenemos un gran club y no terminamos hasta que levantemos el trofeo Landis" which translates to "I am proud of my accomplishments, but would not be here without my teammates. We have a great club and we are not finished until we raise the Landis trophy".

Manager Cameron Fookes beamed like a proud father when asked his thoughts on Pedro's season "you could not ask for a better player and teammate. He has been everything the scouting reports said he would be and more. He has been a joy to coach and has been a vital piece to this team as he gives us another true bomber behind Stinson to help protect him in the lineup".

With the extension of the Outlaws season, we get to see "Busto" play and hit a little while longer.

love that you didnt waste any time with him in the minors, he was clearly ready to contribute on day 1.

Bustamante played 42 games in the minors, and came up when the outlaws needed him for a stretch run.

It was a well timed call up, since it side-stepped super two.
