Outlaws Deal No-Hitter

Outlaws 7 vs Talons 0

No Hitters are a rare feat, and they are even more rare in Spring training but that is what the San Antonio Outlaws accomplished yesterday as three pitchers combined to throw a No Hitter against the Phoenix Talons.

A beautiful spring day, with 74 degrees and no wind, set the backdrop for a very entertaining day the Spring Ballpark. Outlaws Starter, Jorge Alvarez pitching on a 60 pitch limit, spun 4 innings of no hit ball with 7 strikeouts and no walks. He was relieved by veteran Eric Holliday who gave the home team 1.2 innings with no hits, 3 K's and 2 BOB's. The game was finished up by newly crowned Outlaws Closer Luis Pina who slammed the door shut in an extended appearance going 3.1 innings and striking out 5 with no walks to complete the No Hitter.

The offense gave them all the Runs they would need this day with an Sac Fly from Long Chamberlin III after an opening Double from SS Bob Allen in the first inning. Allen had been told before the game that he had made the Outlaws opening day roster giving him some extra motivation. Allen was then Singled to third by future 3B Alfredo Rosas before Chamberlin did his magic.

The Outlaws would go ahead and tack on 6 more Runs from 12 Hits winning the game in grand fashion 7-0. The Outlaws head into the regular season hopeful that things come together for them in 2042.

That's crazy because I just so happened to see a shutout (not necessarily this one) in the #finals during the sim and actually wondered to myself if there's been a no-no thrown in the spring before. Kudos on the achievement and thanks for letting us know!

I try to save the box scores and logs for no hitters - added this one to my pdf collection.
