The Outlaw Chronicles 2042-2 Outlaws Add Two

Outlaws Add Two

Outlaws jump into the early days of Free Agency and come out with two players that should be upgrades form last season.

Shortstop was a bit of a mess for the Outlaws last season with veterans Pedro Suarez and Miguel Padilla both seeing significant time with insignificant results. Looking to improve the middle of the infield the Outlaws signed SS Tony Gustafsen to a 1yr, $1.3 million dollar deal. The 30 yr old veteran outstanding defense and a history of success playing SS in the bigs. Unless there are other moves made you can look for Gustafsen and holdover Padilla to share time at Short until one of them takes control. Word around the league is San Antonio remains active in the market and have spoken to other teams regarding the availability of certain players.

If you could nail down one disappointment from last season, and by God there were many, it would be the complete failure of the pitching staff. GM Calvaruso made it a priority to upgrade the teams bullpen from last year as there were far too many blown leads costing games and contributing to a poor team chemistry. With that in mind, Calvaruso decided to sign RP Juan Sanchez to a 1yr, $2.4 million dollar deal with the hopes he can be a useful addition. Sanchez does not have the best reputation and has struggled the last two years, but at only a 1 year deal he is not guaranteed a spot on the opening day roster should he falter early.

Hmm. Sanchez's skill ratings look pretty good, but he certainly hasn't done much with them the last couple of seasons. Maybe the Outlaws can help him turn things around!
