Outlaws Back Above .500
And the pendulum swings again as San Antonio goes 5-2 in Sim 3 pushing it's record to 10-7 here in the early going. A 4 game sweep of struggling Louisville was a big help to the bottom line but it will only get harder from here.
Game of the Week
Friday, April 17th - San Antonio Outlaws @ Louisville Sluggers
San Antonio 2 vs Louisville 0
There were a couple different options to pick from for Game of the Week, but we went with Rookie SP Fernand Richard 6 Hit, Complete Game Shutout of the Louisville Sluggers. Fernand needed 101 pitches to shutout and shutdown the Sluggers on a cool night in Kentucky Truck Plant Stadium. Only one of the 6 Hits allowed went for extra bases and Richard struck out 5 while walking a big fat zero. The early going has been very encouraging for the lefty he has been the biggest surprise to date for San Antonio.
The Outlaws batters didn't exactly light it up themselves, but did just enough to pull out this victory. Solo Home Runs by SS Pedro Suarez and RF Mark White were all the firepower that San Antonio could muster.
Pitcher of the Week
SP Fernand Richard - Richard now stands at 2-1 after 3 starts, with a 0.75 ERA. He has struck out 14 batters and only walked 2. The 22 year old from Toronto seems to be growing up before everyone's eyes.
Batter of the Week
LF Chang-hyeok Chang - Chang has been off to a slow start like most of the Outlaw hitters, but seems to be warming up after going 9-30 with 1 HR and 6 RBI's this sim. Chang now sits at a .281 BA with 1 HR, 7 RBI's, 14 Runs and 3 SB's.
