The Outlaw Chronicles 2035-5 Pen Pals

Post by bigmike13 » Mon Jun 04, 2018 6:50 pm

Well, you gotta start somewhere. With the Outlaws missing out on big names such as McQuade and Guerrero, the team decided to shore up their bullpen with the latest free agent signings.

San Antonio made three free agent signings this period, inking RP Sebastien Durand, RP Domingo Ayala and RP Jose Gutierrez with the hopes of bringing last years unit back from the dead.

The 39 yr old Durand spent last year in Atlantic City, acting as the teams Closer and racking up 38 Saves with a 3.46 ERA. Durand was signed to come in as more of a Setup guy, but with the option to Close games on occasion.

32 yr old Domingo Ayala spent last six years with the Edmonton Jackrabbits, after being signed away from Paris in the International League. Ayala worked 45 innings for Edmonton in 2034, even coming away with 11 Saves, but had an elevated 4.96 ERA. Ayala throws hard, but tends to get little life on the ball making him susceptible to the long ball. Ayala will most likely fill a long relief role with the Outlaws in 2035

the 33 yr old Gutierrez has been considered a solid veteran pitcher in the league for almost 7/8 years now, but 2034 was not a fun ride for Jose. Gutierrez struggled mightily between his times at New Orleans and Las Vegas with a combined 7.53 ERA. The Outlaws are taking a risk that he can return to his 2033 numbers and become a solid option in the middle innings.

With more moves to come, this is only the tip of the iceberg for GM Calvaruso.
