Cyclones set franchise attendance & revenue record in 2054.(55.05)
If you were watching on TV and the ballpark seemed fuller this year than in seasons past, that wasn’t just an illusion. If you were trying to find tickets to get into a Cyclones game this year, and struck out, it wasn’t just bad luck.
Omaha was just 23 fans short of drawing 4,300,000 this past year to Emilio Morales field. The official number of 4,299,977 is a franchise record set way back in 1996 when the team was obviously not in town. That record of 4,251,582 stood for 58 years. This years attendance figure gives the club an average attendance of 53,086. With stadium capacity at 60,000, there is still room for growth and potentially a higher attendance for next season.
Total revenue of over $176,000,000 also shattered any prior revenue year for the club, with the prior record being just over $170,000,000 in 2047.
The team did recently announce that season ticket prices would be going from an average of $15.85 per game last season to an even $18.0 for the 2055 season. This is a 13.6% increase for cyclone fans. There is no word as to what that means for regular season games but typically in years past, regular season games have cost 10-15% more than season tickets, meaning regular season games are likely going to be in the neighborhood of $20-$21.
