Despite fan interest the highest it has ever been, Omaha rolled out new promotional campaigns last week announcing that season ticket renewals would be $13.00 per game! For those who haven’t been following along, that is $2 cheaper than Omaha’s absurd “family” pricing they rolled out midway through the 2053 season.
With a 60,000 seat stadium and a fan interest that is currently “gauged” at 100, it will be interesting to see how many season tickets are sold. Last year, the team sold only 15,404 in season tickets (a little more than 25% of its entire capacity). The problem was that Omaha was only drawing another 15,000 or so fans, as they were only about half full most of the time. That’s when fan interest was sitting in the upper 70s.
Over the course of the year, Omaha sold out the majority of their remaining games, pushing their average capacity to 75.3%. Despite that, they were still bringing in less money than they were before because of the price difference.
With fan interest at 100% currently and season tickets at a crazy $13.00 per game, it is anybody’s guess as to how many season tickets the team will sell when they officially go on sale in the upcoming weeks.
“We’re hoping for 60,000 to sell. Obviously, we want all Omaha fans in that stadium every game. That would basically eliminate any away teams from having an allotment to purchase. For the record, any season game ticket revenue is not shared as “gate revenue” with the opposing team so that money you spend on your season tickets is staying local! ” said Omaha GM Justin Niles.
