Make it 20 in a row for Gonzalez.(45.11)
Raul Gonzalez has quietly had a monster season at the back end of the Omaha bullpen, converting his 20th straight save on June 27th against Chicago. Gonzalez, who leads the league with 24 this season, has blown just 1 save so far in 25 opportunities, leading to a 96% save percentage.
Gonzalez was a key reason for Omaha’s success at the end of last year and has carried that momentum to an even better year in 2045. He has a 1.53 ERA in 35 innings, with a 0.93 WHIP. As mentioned, his 24 saves lead the league.
He was recently honored on June 1st with the BBA FL Pitcher of the Month award after posting a 1.06 ERA in May over 17 innings. He was used a bit less in June, only pitching 5.1 innings this month but still an effective 6 outings regardless, as shown by his 1.69 ERA.
Gonzalez is just 24 years old, and has over 4 years of team control remaining with the Cyclones. He was acquired last season from Las Vegas in the deal involving the now Nashville OF Pedro Mendoza.

Mendoza is playing pretty well for me now. Missed 4 weeks early on though.
